The Massachusetts medical community is mourning the unexpected passing of Dr. Dana D. Mann, a respected family physician, dedicated medical educator, and partner at MFM Health, formerly Middleton Family Medicine. Dr. Mann died on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 46, leaving behind a legacy of compassionate patient care, clinical excellence, and unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of her community.
For nearly two decades, Dr. Mann devoted her career to caring for patients and families across the North Shore. Renowned for her empathy, professionalism, and patient-centered approach, she earned the trust of generations of families who valued not only her medical expertise but also her kindness and genuine concern for their lives. Her ability to build lasting relationships with patients made her one of the region’s most respected family physicians.
Affectionately known as a “Triple Jumbo” within the Tufts University community, Dr. Mann completed her undergraduate education, earned her Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2005, and completed her Family Medicine residency through the Tufts program in 2008. Throughout her academic training, she distinguished herself through both scholarly achievement and compassionate care.
Her commitment to humanistic medicine was recognized with the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award in 2005, honoring her exceptional compassion and dedication to patient care. In 2008, she received the Sidney Zeitler, M.D. Memorial Award for her outstanding contributions to the education and mentorship of future family physicians.
In 2012, Dr. Mann joined Middleton Family Medicine, later known as MFM Health, where she became a partner and helped guide the organization’s continued growth into a leading multidisciplinary healthcare practice. Working alongside her colleagues, she played an important role in expanding patient services while maintaining the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare.
Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Mann developed expertise across a broad range of specialties, including women’s health, pediatrics, sports medicine, dermatologic procedures, and palliative care. Her dedication to comprehensive family medicine allowed her to care for patients throughout every stage of life, from infancy through adulthood.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Mann was an active leader at Beverly Hospital, serving on numerous committees focused on patient safety, quality improvement, electronic medical records, neonatal care, and diabetes management. Her leadership and collaborative spirit contributed to initiatives that enhanced healthcare delivery throughout the region.
Colleagues remember Dr. Mann as an inspiring physician whose compassion extended beyond medicine. She willingly mentored young healthcare professionals, encouraged teamwork, and consistently placed the needs of her patients first. Outside of medicine, Dr. Mann cherished time with her family.
